Monster Mill Hopper and Base

$60.00

After too long, and a bunch of work, Monster Brewing Hardware now has a base and hopper to go with their mills. Finally, you can purchase our mill, and hopper/base system, and in a matter of minutes after taking it out of the box, be able to mill grain. No more fabrication required!

The hopper is constructed from 20 gauge G90 hot dip galvanized steel that should never rust. The material is more than 35 thousandths thick, and is super strong! The pieces are laser cut, and then CNC bent by our supplier in the USA. The hopper stands 9” tall above the mill, and the opening at the top is 11.5” by 12.75” with a capacity of at least 11 pounds of 2-row or pilsner malt. The hopper design directs the grist down into the mill gap, keeping it both away from the ends of the rollers, and from bouncing out of the gap. In testing there were no problems with positive feeding. The main six hopper parts are the same for any of our mills, while the sides that hold the hopper are different for each mill, and double as covers to keep the grist below the base.

Because the parts are built very accurately, the holes line up perfectly. The whole works assembles easily in minutes with the included #8 machine screws, washers, and nylon insert lock nuts. We include nylon insert nuts so they won’t vibrate loose while milling. The hopper mounts to the top of the mill using the included ¼-20 half inch long mounting bolts. If you had an erector set when you were a kid, the process should bring back fond memories. (hopefully!) The only tools necessary for assembly are a Philips screwdriver PLUS an 11/32” box end wrench, socket, or a pair of pliers.

The base is hand fabricated by a local cabinet maker from medium density fiber board, and measures just under 12” x 12”. The top edges and corners are radiused for smoothness, and the window for the grist to fall through is hand routed. The base fits over standard 5-6 gallon plastic buckets, and holds the mill frames straight and securely.

Blichmann AutoSparge

$86.95
Have you longed for a sparging system with a "set-it-and-forget-it" design? The elegantly simple construction of Blichmann Engineering's AutoSparge™ automatically sets the hot liquor flow rate and liquid level in your mash / lauter tun. As you change the sparge rate into your boil kettle, the AutoSparge™ automatically responds by increasing or decreasing hot liquor flow to compensate and keeps a constant level in your tun.
Newly redesigned - 100% stainless steel, improved o-ring mounting and 1/2" NPT thread.
The AutoSparge™ is an awesome accessory for RIMS systems, and it also works great with gravity systems or with pumps! Wort gently rotates on top of the grain bed to reduce channeling and oxygen pick-up, and to increase extraction efficiency. With a constant hot liquor level over your grain bed, complicated rotating sparge arms are unnecessary complications!

Inlet at the bottom allows air to automatically purge to reduce hot-side aeration
Fine filter with wiper seal sends very clear wort to your fermentor.
Coarse filter and cone bottom inlet prevents wort channeling and backup for even hop utilization
Works on gravity systems and with pumps (about 4ft (1M) of static head is recommended for best gravity performance)

Blichmann HopBlocker

$74.95

New to the Blichmann Engineering lineup is the patent pending HopBlocker boil kettle filtration system! Over a year of brutal but tasty research yielded a filtration system that has up to 95% efficiency and is virtually impervious to plugging! We have tested the HopBlocker with over a pound of pellet hops in a 20gal batch and it brought them to their knees.

Traditional screen filters quickly plug with pellet hops and other fine break material since they draw from the bottom of the pot and immediately suck all the break material into the screens where they quickly plug. For the HopBlocker, we utilized preferrential flow to leave the settled fine break material (hops and trub) undisturbed at the bottom of the pot while draining the majority of the wort through a coarse filter from the top down. When the wort level is just a couple inches from the bottom of the pot, the fine filter element is then exposed by lifting the shield and the remainder of the wort is filtered. This way, the fine filter only has to filter a small portion of the wort instead of all of it. The HopBlocker will filter 90-95% of the break material and hops out of your wort without plugging. While it is designed specifically for BoilerMaker pots, it can be installed in any manufacturers pot or keg. Instructions provided.

PLEASE NOTE: The HopBlocker is designed for use with PELLET hops ONLY. Whole loose hope will PLUG the unit. For using with whole hops, or a mix of whole and pellet hops, you need to bag your whole hops in a large muslin grain bag. This will not effect the utilization rate and will result in significantly less wort loss.

Whole Hop Recommendations: Leaf hops are generally not a problem and are trapped by the coarse screen. However, we highly recommend using large muslin grain bags for one main reason: you lose a large amount of wort from leaf hop absorption. Using a bag you can squeeze most of this out and hop utilization is negligibly affected using this method. Lastly, cleanup is significantly easier. This method does not work for pellet hops since they pass through the openings in the muslin bag. On the other hand, nylon fine mesh bags do not readily allow wort to pass through and utilization is reduced.

Installing in non-BoilerMaker pots: The HopBlocker was specifically designed for use in the BoilerMaker line of brew pots. Howeve,r it can be installed in other manufacturers equipment. A 1/2" outside diameter drain tube with a 90 deg bend (not included) will need to be installed 3" from the bottom of the pot. The bottom of the tube should be about 3/8"-1/2" from the bottom of the pot or keg. Since you can't rotate the tube to thread it into the inside of your pot when the tube is inserted into the HopBlocker, you will need a flare or compression connection so you can tighten the tube in-place without turning the tube. Try to locate the tube so that the HopBlocker is as close as possible to the sidewall of the pot. For keg based brew pots, you'll need to install it in the center of the pot since it has a rounded bottom. However, effectiveness of the HopBlocker will be reduced.

Weldless Spigot - Stainless

$39.95

Do you have a kettle or cooler but would like the ease and convenience of using a ball valve to easily drain liquid? Are you a Do It Yourself Type person? At a fraction of the cost of having a spigot welded into your kettle you can drill a hole and install a weldless ball valve.

The problem with most weldless fittings is they are thrown together from assorted hardware. Common issues include leaking and lots of flex when you use the ball valve. These new weldless fittings feature are designed for brewing. There is no comparison to the weldless fittings of yesterday with their rock-solid feel and a solid leak free connection.

This unit is also unique in that it feature 1/2" female threads on the inside. This allows you to thread in various other fittings that you can see below. Want to later make a mashtun... no problem just thread in our stainless screen. want to fully drain your boil kettle? No problem, just add our kettle maximizer! This allows for unlimited flexibility.

Weldless kit includes a 1/2" Full Port ball valve and a 1/2" barb. All fittings are made from 304 type stainless steel for a lifetime of corrosion free use. Full installation directions included. Manufactured by Fermentap.

You will need to drill a 1" hole in your kettle for installation of this weldless spigot. We recommend a Step Drill Bit for this. To install in a cooler to make a mash tun look in the downloads area on the main menu.

Weldless Whirlpool Arm assembly

$39.95

Weldless Stainless Steel Whirlpool Arm with 1/2" Flow. Are you looking for clearer wort, quick chilling times and higher hop utilization during flame-out? This can all be achieved with the addition of a whirlpool arm on your brew kettle.

This assembly is designed for installation underneath the handle of your kettle. Achieve the perfect whirlpool in the brew pot by simply connecting from a hose to your brew pump. Throttle flow, if needed, with the two piece stainless steel ball valve.

Whirlpools will help settle trub in the center of your kettle, which makes it easier to pull clear wort from your draining ball valve. The whirlpool will result in a much higher efficiency if using an immersion chiller, this is due to increased turbulation of the wort. And for the hoppy beer lovers, the increased flow will give you higher extraction of hop oils and flavour during flame-out additions!

This is assembly is built for years to come with its 100% stainless steel design. Features a 1/2" full port ball valve and 1/2" barbs on both ends. Full half inch flow for consistency in most home brew system builds (1/2" valves & hoses). The bulkhead is a specifically engineered stainless steel part made for brewing!

Requires drilling a 1" hole for installation for the bulkhead. We recommend a step drill bit for this.

Wort Chillers

Wort Chiller - Immersion SS with hose 25'x 3/8"

$84.95

A premium compact immersion chiller made with 25 feet of 3/8" OD, 304 stainless steel. This gorgeous unit is designed to chill five gallons of hot wort in as little as ten minutes, but is capable of cooling larger batches as well.

Whether you're brewing with extract or all-grain, bringing down the temperature of the wort quickly in order to pitch the yeast is an essential step in homebrewing. Lowering the temperature quickly reduces chances of contaminating your beer with wild yeasts and bacteria, and will reduce the levels of DMS (dimethyl sulfide) that can ruin a beer's aroma. A quick chilling of the wort will also improve clarity in the final product. Having the garden hose adapters hooked directly up to the wort chiller gives you the ability to quickly hook up your desired hose, this means that you have far more freedom as to what hose to use further expanding your options.

The Stainless Steel Wort Chillers are more durable and hygienic products compared to the copper variety due to being made of 3/8" 304 Stainless Steel. The resiliency that these wort chillers provide is unmatched, giving you an incredibly strong and long lasting wort chiller. The hygienic properties of stainless steel outmatch traditional copper, in addition Stainless Steel is a far easier to clean metal.

The compact design of this wort chiller makes it far less intrusive and easier to fit in tighter locations. Perfect for those with space constraints while still providing the excellent performance of our other wort chillers.

When using an immersion chiller there's no unnecessary transferring to different containers, and there's no need to dilute the wort with cold water. Just drop the immersion chiller in to the brew pot. The preferred method of sanitation is to make sure it is clean and submerge the coil portion of the chiller into the wort during the last 15 minutes of the boil, this will kill any wild yeasts or unsanitary pests that might be introduced. Once the brew pot is taken off the boil, you can begin cooling immediately by hooking up the line and turning on the water.

Wort Chiller - Immersion SS with garden hose adapters 25 'x 3/8"

$89.95
